Press Release
Community Policing Teams Assigned to Every Principal Site
Office of the Spokesperson

The Police Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network today announced the assignment of a community policing team to each of the six principal sites of the Network. The teams, comprising 50 officers and 18 community support officers in total, take up their posts from Monday 7 September 2026. Each team is based at the police station for its site and is responsible for the smaller sites nearby.
Every team holds a weekly public session at its station, at which staff, citizens and visitors may raise concerns about crime, safety or antisocial behaviour without an appointment. The teams' first priorities, drawn from the offences recorded during the transition period, are theft from the person and cycle theft at the passenger sites, vehicle and cargo crime at the freight and distribution sites, and fraud against residents at Meridian Court.
The composition, session times and priorities of each team are set out on the Community Policing page of this site. Matters for a team's attention that are not urgent may be sent to contact@police.gov.vin, marked for the attention of the team concerned.
