An official website of the Velocity Interoperability Network

Police Stations

The Police Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network operates six police stations, one at each principal site of the Velocity Interoperability Network. Each station is the base for the patrols and the community policing team for its site and has a public counter at which crime and incidents may be reported, found property handed in, lost property collected and, from 14 September 2026, identity checked for police certificate applications.

Counters open from Monday 7 September 2026

The six counters below open between Monday 7 September and Friday 11 September 2026. Patrol and response cover at every principal site has operated continuously since establishment on 6 September 2026.

The station register. The register below is maintained by the Department and updated as arrangements change. Smaller sites without a station are served by the nearest station in the register and by the community policing team responsible for them.

Lost and found property. Found property handed in at any counter is recorded and held at the property office of that station. A person who has lost property may report the loss at any counter or in writing; the Department searches its property record across all six stations and writes to the owner if the property is found. Property is held for three months from the date it is received and is then disposed of in accordance with the Department's property rules, with the proceeds of any sale paid to the Treasury of the Network.

Attending a station. The steps below apply to all stations.

  1. Step 1: Check the counter hours

Counters open at the times shown in the register. Patrol and response cover does not depend on counter hours; in an emergency, alert the emergency point at your site or the nearest officer on duty.

  2. Step 2: Bring identification

Bring your staff or citizen identification if you have it. Visitors should bring the identification with which they entered the Network. Identification is not required to report a crime but is required to collect property or to apply for a certificate.

  3. Step 3: State your business at the counter

Counter staff take reports of crime and incidents, receive found property, arrange the collection of lost property and check identity for certificate applications. Matters that need an officer are referred to one on duty or arranged by appointment.

  4. Step 4: Keep your reference

You will be given a reference number for any report or property transaction. Quote it in later correspondence with the Department.
