Safety Advice
The advice below is published by the Police Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network for staff of member organisations, citizens of the Velocity Interoperability Network and visitors to its sites. It is drawn from the offences recorded during the transition period from 10 August to 5 September 2026 and reflects the pattern of crime at the sites as of 6 September 2026. It will be revised as that pattern changes and as the community policing teams report on the matters raised with them.
Most offences recorded at the sites of the Network are offences of opportunity: property left on view, a cycle secured with a cable, a door held open. The advice is accordingly practical and, for the most part, inexpensive to follow.
Questions about this advice, and requests for a security survey of an organisation's premises, may be sent to contact@police.gov.vin. To report a crime, follow the steps on the Reporting a Crime page; for the team responsible for your site and its public session times, see Community Policing.
