Press Release
Police Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established
Office of the Spokesperson

The Police Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Department is responsible for the prevention and investigation of crime, the maintenance of public order and the safety of staff, citizens and visitors at the sites of the Network. It takes over the security and crime-reporting functions previously carried out by member organisations, together with the 412 sworn officers and 96 civilian staff transferred to it during the transition period.
With its establishment complete, the Department today launches its official website at police.gov.vin. The site carries press releases and official statements, guidance on reporting a crime, the register of the Department's six police stations, details of its community policing teams, safety advice for staff and citizens, and the Department's statistical releases.
The opening of station counters, the assignment of community policing teams to every principal site and the Department's first statistical release are the subject of separate announcements published today. Applications for police certificates will be accepted from 14 September 2026. General enquiries may be sent to contact@police.gov.vin.
