Police Department Publishes First Statistical Release
Office of the Spokesperson
The Police Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network today published its first statistical release. The release covers the transition period from 10 August to 5 September 2026, during which member organisations transferred their security and crime-reporting functions to the Department, and records the position at establishment on 6 September 2026.
During the transition period 901 offences were recorded across the six principal sites, of which theft, public order offences and fraud accounted for two thirds. Officers attended 1,236 incidents, made 97 arrests and recorded 318 items of lost or found property. At establishment the Department had 412 sworn officers and 96 civilian staff in post, with 24-hour patrol cover at every principal site.
The Department will publish statistics quarterly. The next release, covering the quarter ending 30 September 2026, will be published in October. The full release, including recorded offences by category and site and the Department's planned capacity, is set out on the Statistics page of this site.
